Enhanced Super Cruise & You

We've all been awaiting the era, to remove our hands from the steering wheel and let the car take over. Seeing this scenario in movies & magazines has tantalized our imagination for vehicles to be fully autonomous for decades. Today's gadgets & distractions are making this a demand, not a luxury. We all dream of having our vehicle chauffeur us on our way to a chosen destination while having the ability to type on our laptops, scan social media or take a 10-minute siesta. Even though today's technology won't provide the capabilities of turning your vehicle into a rolling sofa or cinema on wheels, we assure you that Cadillac is working on it. Super Cruise is one of Cadillac's newest innovative technologies to be included in its luxury brand & is on schedule to provide this experience we've all been waiting for. Super Cruise features driver-assisted hands-free driving, which will be available in the 2021 Cadillac CT5 and CT4. Followed by the all-new next-generation 2021 Cadillac Escalade. Super Cruise is currently available in the 2020 CT6. However, Cadillac is introducing a new enhancement; automated lane change functionality. This feature will allow your hands-free system to change lanes on compatible highways when requested by the driver and certain conditions are met.

Extensive Technology

Several improvements have been made to the system's hardware & software, updating the system to make Super Cruise more efficient and provide better performance. User interface & hands-free driving dynamics have been improved to make the automated lane change functionality more practical. Rear-facing sensors and advanced software algorithms have been updated so the system can efficiently track vehicles approaching from the rear. As a result, Cadillac ensures that Super Cruise will hold in its current lane and only change when a sufficient gap exists. LiDAR Scanning & Real-time GPS, combined with an assortment of cameras & radar sensors provide continuous scanning & detailed mapping data of the surrounding road & traffic to determine allowable automated driving maneuvers.

Lane Detection

When Super Cruise is engaged, the driver may simply tap or fully engage the turn signal to indicate to other drivers that you will be switching lanes. Once the system determines that the indicated lane is open, the vehicle will merge into the required lane. However, the system will continue to require the operator to focus on the surroundings while completing the lane change.
